Electrical FAQs

Common questions about electrical services

Of all the systems we have to deal with in our homes, our electrical system is perhaps the most perplexing. Depending on how old it is, you might deal with anything from a lack of electrical outlets to flickering or dim lights, malfunctioning light switches, or—unfortunately—electrical fires. Here at Ninija Electric Lmited, we’re here to make these confusing issues more clear and help you find solutions to all your home electrical problems!

We are willing to estimate your electrical project for free when you know what needs installed, repaired, upgraded or new construction. However, troubleshooting unknown electrical issues is an hourly rate with a minimum service charge of two hours. In our experience, it takes more time to locate the problem than repair it, so we do our best to repair it while we are called out to look at your problem.
Licensed electricians are required to know the current electrical code. If you go to the expense of changing or adding electrical, you ought to do it to the current requirements. Also, the professional will purchase the correct material, in the correct amounts, creating the least waste possible which can save you money in the end. Also, city inspectors will charge additional fees every time you fail inspection and they have to come back. But most importantly, there is always a risk of electrocution and arc burns when doing electrical repairs and installation---not to mention that incorrect electrical work has a nasty reputation for starting fires and causing total structure losses.

When you reach to your light switch to turn it off, only to find that it is hot to the touch, you have a problem. This is not a normal phenomenon, and it indicates that there are serious issues hiding behind your walls. If you don’t get help right away, you could end up facing a serious electrical fire in your home

First, have a licensed electrical contractor inspect your home.  Secondly, take their advice.  A newer technology in our trade is the Arc Fault Breakers…and they are the #1 KAB recommended protection. Arc Fault Breakers are required in new buildings and can be added to older wiring in older homes to greater detect sparks.  They shut off the electricity to those circuits.  Proper grounding and lightning protection is also recommended.

Yes! For an hourly rate, we will do an electrical inspection for your home.  We offer a more thorough electrical inspection than the “home inspectors” because we are experts in that field and specialize in that area.  We are up to date on all codes, various city requirements, local utility company mandates, and we take annual continuing education classes to ensure you get a highly accurate report.  If we are at your house for another issue/project anyway, make sure to ask us to give you an inspection.

Call us at +2349074748789  We can look at your project after hours if needed and work with you to schedule a time during our business hours to save you the extra costs of after hour overtime.

Monday through Saturday, 7:30 am to 6pm.

We always try to work in emergencies and smaller jobs as soon as possible.  Larger projects are scheduled with you to meet your deadlines and coordinate with other subs and utility companies.  Call and we’ll get you on our job list.

Of course.  However, we are limited in the materials available after hours and on weekends.  And, many emergencies require city inspectors and utility company involvement which is hard to get after hours.  We will, however, always get your home or business in a safe condition and schedule the permanent repair for the next business day.  It is always advisable to keep your electrical systems in good working order to avoid overtime pricing for late night, weekend, and holiday emergencies.  Our best after hour contact is email at [email protected]

When we started Ninija, we accepted work on the premise that we would help everyone.  We would not hand pick projects or discriminate against any job no matter how small, dirty, or challenging.  Over our 13 years, we have continued to help clients with all sorts of electrical problems/projects.  We change light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries, hang Christmas lights, and have reset many breakers and GFCI receps!  As for too big?  We have very long time customers who tell us they are amazed at the large projects we complete with our size of a shop.  In addition, we have resources to hire additional well trained and licensed electricians to tackle large commercial projects or time crunch jobs.  (In our career, we have NEVER missed a deadline or held up a job!)

Ninija Electric prides itself in our variety of expertise and challenges we take on for projects.  We are specialists in historical homes, mobile homes, generators, new construction, remodels, home and business code updates, custom lighting, service and panel upgrades, telephone/cable/low voltage data installation, hot tub-Jacuzzi-pool electrical repair, theater, security cameras, and speaker wiring, hard wired smoke alarms, parking lot lights, electrical signage, and much more.  If it is electrical, we probably do it!

We recommend a whole house safety inspection to understand the current status of the wiring. Some wiring that is considered a major hazard is: knob and tube wiring, BX wiring, and an ungrounded system. These compose hazards on your home and if in poor condition, a re-wire shall be considered.

Ninija suggest a dedicated circuit for refrigerators. They have an extensive amp draw. They should not be GFCI protected like a lot of receptacles found in kitchens and garages. A dedicated circuit will protect your freezer or fridge from being tripped and destroying anything inside.

Most homes can be completed within one week. Larger homes can take up to two weeks. You will not need to move out of the home during the process.

We only employ well trained, qualified electricians.  We go above and beyond the “other guy“.  We will work with the utility company, city inspector, material vendors, and general contractors to help you every step of your project.  We are a local and stable company and will still be here to warranty our work and maintain your system in the future.
